You just need to think about the depth of field a little to achieve the results that you are after. The color and sharpness are excellent. Close-up work is what this lens is all about and the results are super, I use it at work for documenting projects and some of our items are quite small (we do prototype machining) and this lens is excellent for this. Only problem is it does block the on camera flash if you go 1:1, problem is solved by using an off camera flash with the wireless control. Overall I highly recommend this lens.
