Notes on Canon PIXMA MP760 All-in-One Photo Printer ...- This printer is borderline useless. The first one I purchased was defective. The second one works, but not to my standards. Scanner is great, but the printer is below par. The printer is horrible for printing documents (very slow) and the paper feed jams for no reason ALL the time. It prints nice photographs but runs out of ink SOOO quickly. In fact midway, before the ink is even out it starts streaking and showing these horrible lines in the photos which is totally UNACCEPTABLE. I originally purchased this for the photo functions and thought the other functions would be a useful added bonus. It is not worth it. I often don't print things simply because dealing with this printer which only works well 50% (at best) of the time is such a hassle. I always think to myself it would have been easier and cheaper to just send them in to get printed. Plus this machine is huge. It takes up way too much space. It just sits there eating up the lion's share of my desk, taunting me. I have used this connected to a PC and a MAC, both with poor results. Printing from a memory card is an almost useless, clunky feature which allows for very little, or no, editing. I would advise doing it from Photoshop. Actually I would advise everybody to stay as far away from this unit as you can--it's a complete flop. I have had Canon printers in the past that were great and that is why I gravitated to this printer, but after this purchase my confidence in their products has gone WAY down.

Notes on Canon PIXMA MP760 All-in-One Photo Printer ...- I received it very quickly. It didn't work so I went to the Canon company to get a replacement. Canon said the MP760s were no longer made and they sent me a MP800 instead. I was not told by Electronics Expo that the item was no longer made and it might be hard to get parts. The only reason they are getting a 3 is because I did bypass them and didn't give them a chance to right the problem. I don't like to be called about my reviews and after I made the first one I was called several times. Telling me I should remove it. I did so simply because I didn't give them a chance to fix it. DO NOT CALL ME OR I WILL FILE A COMPLAINT.

Notes on Canon PIXMA MP760 All-in-One Photo Printer ...- After a tremendous amount of research, I bought this printer for my parents and was SO impressed with it that I was sad to leave it at their house! The picture quality is phenomenal (and I have seen dozens of different methods of producing prints), and the colors are truer to life than some of even my studio prints of the same pictures (I tried it by printing some copies of my wedding pictures). The copy feature does just a beautiful a job as the print feature does, and it's a BREEZE to use and set up. If it's not clear in the description, this machine also makes prints from negatives and those old-school slides (from the '70s?), which is unheard of in a home printer in all my research. Finally (and MOST importantly) the print cartridges are truly cheap to purchase: it costs around $9 to buy any of the colors, and the cartridge lasts for a while even after printing 100 or so pictures. My parents absolutely love it. If you're looking for an all-in-one and want a good photo printer, do not look any further.
The only problem they've encountered is that the display screen got a thick black line across it in the first week of use, and it has never gone away. They can't even see the screen anymore, but the printing/copying/scanning is not disturbed, and it's probably a defect in this one machine.

Notes on Canon PIXMA MP760 All-in-One Photo Printer ...- I read and researched this product for a month. I was so happy to get it. I still have a 10 yr. old Canon product! It was great.....
However, after only 6 months, I started to have "on/off" problems and now my print cartridge carriage locked and sparks were shooting out of the printer!
Customer service is so hard to contact......their site is even difficult to download!
Bottom line, this model is not even being manufactured now! Interesting, since is was rated in the top 3 by a noted consumer rating co. What does Canon know?
I spent over $200+ on this, and it is going to the dump because Canon's warranty is limited and if it is shipped back to them ($60), THEY decide if it was defective or I caused it!!!! Guess who will win?
What a mess......I'm debating buying a Canon product now?

Notes on Canon PIXMA MP760 All-in-One Photo Printer ...- This is a great all-in-one printer from Canon overall. However, there is a few items that potential buyers should know.
This printer comes with removable ink head which makes cleaning possible. I had to throw away two Epson photo printers because the printer head got dirty and there was no possible way of cleaning them. Even the Epson representative suggested to just toss them away and buy a new one after years of use. I don't know about you, but I don't want to buy a printer just to toss them after a few years *simply* because one component becomes unusable. Canon designed this printer with removable print head so when it gets dirty, user may remove it and wash it. Saves money in the long run.
Five separate ink cartridges means great color photos. Even though this is not a "photo" printer, this printer generates great looking photographs. Words of caution though. Only after printing 3 high-quality pictures on 8.5x11" glossy papers, color inks were reduced to half level. Black and grey inks weren't affected much. Therefore, even though Canon advertises that it might save money by using separate color cartridges, this particular model seems to use a lot of ink printing photos. In other words, if you are buying this printer thinking that you would save ink, you either might end up not saving money, or you won't save as much as you think.
Great film negative scanner. The built-in card readers were really convenient. This model doesn't have a parallel port so it's not to be used with older computers.
